We are proud to announce Amanda Gordan as the recipient of our 4th Quarter Spotlight Award.
This award honors an employment support staff who goes above and beyond for individuals every day!
The winner of this quarter’s award is Amanda Gordan who’s been with Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana for a little over 7 years and an Employment Specialist for about 8 months. She has amazing participants and she pours my heart and soul into assisting them in accomplishing their goals. According to Amanda, she does more than just assist them with obtaining Community Employment; she helps stabilize every aspect of their lives to maximize their success. Not only is it rewarding for her participants, she realizes that being in this Employment Specialist position brings out her absolute best. According to Amanda, “I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. It’s so fulfilling and it brings instant gratification to my life.”
“My advice for anyone seeking employment would never doubt your own abilities. Don’t be afraid to try something new it could be the best decision you ever make.”
When asked, “What is the most rewarding aspect of being an Employment Specialist?” Amanda answered by saying, “The most rewarding aspect of being an Employment Specialist for me is seeing my participants succeed. I love knowing that I helped make a difference in the lives of the individuals I serve.”
Amanda is so honored to be able to do the work she does each day and having a fabulous team by her side makes it a whole lot easier. All of us at Indiana APSE and our members are thrilled to have someone like Amanda working so hard to support individuals with disabilities who are seeking employment.
