Student Spotlight Award Winner
Indiana APSE is pleased to announce the winner of the Student Spotlight Award!
We had several great nominees including:
Cole Darnold – nominated by Kassandra Flowers at Corvilla
Tai Faleulu – nominated by Janet Reiner at Logan Community Resources
Zackery Randolph – nominated by The ARC of Wabash County
Darneal Craig – nominated by Easterseals Crossroads
All were incredibly worthy and it was a very difficult decision to make.
The winner of the Student Spotlight Award is:
Aaron Hathaway!
Aaron was nominated by Ashley Hill and Malisha Mahon of Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana. Aaron is a former student of Woodlan Junior/Senior High School. During his high school career, he overcame many obstacles including language and comprehension issues. With the help of his dedicated teachers, service professionals, family and other advocates, he was able to successfully complete high school while taking general education classes. He participated in the school’s IREACH program, which focuses on preparing students for independence, as well as the Pre-ETS program where he completed work experiences at many different employers including Lutheran Life Villages, Goodwill, Walgreen’s, and a Hyundai dealership. Aaron is now in his first year at Ivy Tech College pursuing a certificate in Culinary Arts.
